Messahel GenevaGENEVA - Chairman of the World Economic Forum and former norwegian Minister of Foreign affairs Borge Brende welcomed Wednesday, in Geneva, Algeria’s action for the settlement of conflicts peacefully, underscoring its efforts in Mali and Libya, following a meeting with Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel.

As far as peace in Mali is concerned, everyone is aware of Algeria's efforts in this direction. Algeria has also played an important role in the stability of Libya," said Mr. Brende.

Regarding economic development in Algeria, Mr. Brende said that "we know there is diversification, and I think that all business leaders who have attended Davos will be very interested in this development".

The President of the World Economic Forum, Børge Brende, and the founder of the Forum, Klaus Schwab, were received by Mr. Messahel on the sidelines of the first day of the round table aiming to relaunch negotiations between Morocco and the Polisario Front, held under the chairmanship of the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Western Sahara, Horst Kohler, for the settlement of the Western Sahara conflict.
