MFA AlgiersALGIERS – Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel expressed the "firm condemnation" of Algeria of the terrorist attack which targeted Tuesday the Libyan Foreign Ministry building in Tripoli.

"In a telephonic conversation with Mr. Mohamed Tahar Siala, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Libya, Mr. Abdelkader Messahel, Minister of Foreign Affairs, expressed Algeria's strong condemnation of the terrorist attack that targeted the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tripoli on Tuesday December 25th and assured him of Algeria's full solidarity with the Libyan people as well as to the the Government of National Unity," said a Statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This barbaric act, which is once again hitting our sister Libya, once again reminds us of the need for Libyans to link more closely their ranks in order to face terrorist challenges," added the head of Algerian diplomacy, noting that "at a time when the brotherly Libyan people is celebrating the commemoration of its independence, Algeria reiterates its conviction that this attack should not affect the determination of all Libyans to find the way to stability and peace in their country".
