MFA AlgiersAlgeria has “strongly condemned” the deadly terrorist attack that targeted on Sunday January 20th 2019 a camp of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) in Aguelhok in the north-east of the country, says the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdelaziz Benali Cherif.

We strongly condemn the deadly terrorist attack that targeted today, Sunday, January 20th 2019, a camp of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) in Aguelhok in the north-east of the country,” the spokesman of the MFA said in a statement to the APS.

“We pay tribute to the memory of the peacekeepers of the Chadian contingent killed while performing their duties in service of peace and stability in Mali,” he added.

“We offer our sincere condolences to the families of the victims and assure our solidarity with MINUSMA, the Government and the Chadian brothers and sisters, as well as we express our compassion for the injured to whom we wish a speedy recovery,” he said. -he mentioned.

While reiterating “our outrage at the repeated attacks against the UN peacekeeping forces and the unacceptable aggression by armed terrorist groups in the region, we remain convinced that MINUSMA will be able to carry out, within the framework of its mandate, its noble mission in this brotherly and neighborly country whose highest authorities and all driving forces have shown their commitment to the process of peace and national reconciliation in progress,” said the spokesman of the MFA.
