Ramtane LamamraOSLO- Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ramtane Lamamra called Friday, in Oslo, to revitalize Africa-Nordic countries partnerships and implement the international community’s commitments.

“The partnership between Africa and the Nordic countries is called to be developed and revitalized thanks to this kind of meetings,” said Lamamra who co-chaired the working session under the theme “Migration and mobility” with his Finnish counterpart Lenita Toivakka, in the meeting of the Foreign affairs ministers of fifteen African countries and five Nordic countries.

“The meeting is very important to promote the relations and partnerships between ten African and Nordic countries, notably to counter together common issues, terrorism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, violent extremism and also to find solutions to migration issues,” added Lamamra.

“Algeria is invited for the first time to this meeting,” welcomed Lamamra, underlining that “Algeria is always loyal to the African Union’s commitments and works to promote the Pan-Africanism.”

Lamamra called on the occasion of “this extraordinarily important meeting to go to the operational level,” pointing out that “the objectives must be implemented on the ground concerning sustainable development, partnership and the preventive diplomacy by respecting the human dignity.”

“Today, we have assets that allow us to implement sustainable development objectives,” said Lamamra, stressing in this regard the need “to combine the efforts of all the countries to achieve the objectives and concrete results in all the fields, notably education and health, peace and security.”
