ORAN - Algeria has always worked to make peace achievement in Africa an essential line of its foreign policy, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ramtane Lamamra, affirmed Saturday in Oran.
"Under the leadership of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika and his constant commitment to peace in our continent, Algeria, has made this principle, an essential thrust of its foreign policy," said Lamamra in his address at the opening of the 4th High Level Seminar on Peace and Security in Africa.
Algeria ranks first among Arab countries in the protection of children's rights and compliance with international conventions and laws, according to a study conducted by the Algerian High School of Magistrates in collaboration with Sweden's human rights Institute Wallenberg.
ALGIERS-Algeria considers security in the Sahel as an integral part of regional and international security, and calls countries in the region to join their efforts within respect for sovereignty, independence, unity and choices of the countries, stressed Wednesday the Secretary General of the Foreign Affairs Ministry Hassane Rabehi.
ORAN- The 4th High Level Seminar on Peace and Security in Africa has opened on Saturday in Oran (431 km west of Algeria), on the initiative of the Foreign Ministry.
The works of the three-day seminar, chaired by Minister of State, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ramtane Lamamra, are attended by the African ministers of foreign affairs of Ethiopia, Chad and Angola.
The participants also include experts and representatives of African and UN organizations.
ALGIERS- Algeria hosts from 27 to 29 November an international expert workshop of the Global Counterterrorism Forum (GCTF) on “the national plans for the prevention of violent extremism for the countries of the Sahel” as well as the 4th plenary session of the Working Group on the Sahel of this forum from 28 to 30 November.
